Matt Cutts – Try Something New
Matt Cutts works at google. His philosophy is that “the next thirty days are going to pass whether you like it or not, so why not think about something you have always wanted to try and give it a shot”. Matts theory is that by setting constant challenges, people’s lives become more memorable and more fulfilling, “time slows down”. His theories are backed by research; setting achievable goals and challenges has been shown to make people feel happier and more fulfilled. It is known to take between 21 and 30 days for a behaviour change to become habit, what Matt learned was that when he made small sustainable changes, things he could keep doing, they were more likely to stick and although “big crazy challenges” were “tons of fun” they were more likely to be dropped at the end of the month. Matts talk is only 3 1/2 minutes and really good value.
