Eat Yourself Brilliant is a health and performance coaching business, focusing on education. Sharing cutting edge nutrition, health, and sports performance information through:

  • Workshops

  • Seminars

  • Private Coaching and Mentoring

Advice on nutrition and performance can benefit everybody, from children who are just finding out what foods they like, through adolescence and into old age. The foods we eat form the basic building blocks for growth, repair damage and make us who we are. Food not only fuels movement but is now known to interact with or modify a vast number of vital body processes. The way we eat affects mood, sociability, anxiety, attention, memory, problem solving and executive function, as well as how fast we run or how high we jump.

Business

I spend the majority of my time working with businesses and am particularly interested in young people as they transition into the working environment. My own work background and doctoral research give me particular insight into the problems that can arise when the majority of meals are eaten away from home. Commuting, desk work and foreign travel can also compromise performance and coupled with poor diet can impact long term health. I enjoy working with caterers, companies and their employees highlighting areas in which small easy changes can benefit both short term performance and long term health. Seminars can cover basic healthy eating as well as the foods and behaviours that enhance performance and the trick to avoiding common mistakes. I would be delighted to discuss your requirements.

Schools & Colleges – Workshops, Talks and Assemblies

I run a number of workshops during the year both in schools and privately. These are predominantly aimed at older children but can be adapted to a younger group. I have experience in giving talks, lessons and workshops to children from year 4 up to adults, as well as for staff and parents. My aim is to translate the very latest research into a form that is not only easily understood but also fits in well with the syllabus.

Please contact me to discuss your specific requirements.

Previous topics have been:-

  • Making choices
  • What to eat
  • Managing nerves and stress
  • Dyslexia & food
  • Bad food or Not food?
  • Five a day?
  • Adolescence.
  • Performance and the body clock.

  • Injury Management and Immunity

Seminars

Seminars offer an opportunity to explore in a little more depth the role of food, nutrition and lifestyle. Suitable for smaller groups the seminars aim to be informative and interactive, enabling each individual to come away with a greater understanding of themselfves and the ability to apply scientific knowledge to their own diet.

Performance Coaching

I am also very happy to offer private one-on-one coaching for those who want to discuss an individual program to improve health, recover from illness or boost performance.

Family Groups

One of my workshops works very well in a family setting and works with all age groups. The session takes around an hour and looks at how we look at food and balance our diet.
